About Me
I’m Allison Whitman, a licensed Professional Counselor based in Fairfield, CT - here to guide you through life’s most complex and difficult transitions. I have provided a number of specialized therapeutic services to those dealing with challenging life experiences in a variety of intensive therapeutic and education settings. Through my journey as a therapist, I found my niche is working with adolescents and young adults, although my experience encompasses adults, parents, and families. My Career as a mental health provider is grounded in the treatment of anxiety, mood, personality, and trauma disorders. In my work I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities to meet the individual needs of my clients. I specialize in teaching mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills. Establishing a safe, compassionate, nurturing, space is my priority.
